Festina signs five year deal with Tour of Britain

Festina has signed a new five year agreement to sponsor the Tour of Britain cycling race and act as Official Timekeeper for the event.

The Tour, to be held in September, is the UK’s largest professional cycle race and Festina’s role will also take in the new Women’s Tour, Britain’s first international level women’s stage race in May as well as the team-based Pearl Izumi Tour Series. Festina’s role within The Women’s Tour will also offer support to women’s cycling in the UK.

Festina have sponsored the event for the past two years and has historic links with cycling over the last 40 years as sponsor, Official Timekeeper or team sponsor of events including Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and Spain’s Vuelta a España.

This year the first three stages of the Tour de France will take place in the UK, starting in Yorkshire and progressing down to London during which time Festina will be placing regular television advertising on Eurosport and have regular spots during live coverage.

Official clocks and branding will appear throughout the The Pearl Izumi Tour Series which runs at ten venues during May and June before a final round on Jersey as part of the Festival of Cycling.

A spokesperson for Festina said: “We are delighted to not only be appointed the Official Timekeeper for the UK tour, but we can now celebrate a five year deal along with supporting the Women’s Tour. As a brand we will support and offer our commitment to boost UK cycling in both the men’s and women’s tours”.
