Festina has announced its sponsorship of the British Rapha Condor JLT Pro cycling team for the 2013 season, supplying the team with timepieces for the year ahead.
The Rapha Condor cycling team includes double Olympic gold medallist Ed Clancy and Kristian House, the longest standing member of the Rapha Condor team.
Rapha Condor will appear at the Tour of Britain – of which Festina is official timekeeper – and at a number of races during the Halford Tour Series, both of which the watch brand supports with consumer-facing stands.
The brand said the partnership with Rapha Condor is part of its growing marketing campaign in the UK and Europe. This year already Festina has appeared with a consumer-facing stand at the London Bike Show, and will use the 10th and 100th anniversaries of the Tour of Britain and Tour de France to boost coverage during the summer months.
A release from Unique Jewelry, UK distributor of Festina, said: “Following the media interest in the sport with the Olympics in 2012 and Bradley Wiggins winning the Tour de France, this is set to continue following the announcement that the 2014 Tour de France will begin in the UK. As an official sponsor this will not only bolster the sport itself but Festina’s presence in the UK.”
