Fellows to launch monthly watch sale in April

Auctioneers Fellows is ramping up its focus on timepieces with a new monthly sale dedicated purely to watches.

Until now Birmingham-based Fellows has run auctions dedicated to wristwatches and pocket watches, both on a quarterly basis.

From Monday 20 April the auctioneer will launch The Watch Sale, a monthly sale bringing all timepiece lots under one banner. The auction takes place at Fellows Auctioneers salesroom in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter and begins at 11am. Live, online bidding will be possible through the company’s website.

The monthly format will mean that Fellows holds more specialist watch auctions than any other auctioneer.

Fellows has been at the forefront of watch auctions in the UK since 2010 when it became the first UK salesroom to launch an online watch sale and also pioneered the use of apps and 360° photography in watch sales.

Bidders unable to visit Fellows in person are able to view multiple, high-resolution images, a detailed condition report and interactive and 360° photography of each lot.

Highlights of the first sale include an IWC Portugese Regulateur in stainless steel (lot 130) with an estimate of £2,000-£3,000 while a Cartier Tank Americaine bracelet watch (lot 62) in 18ct white gold with a silvered tapestry dial and diamond set bezel, is predicted to sell for £3,000- £5,000.
