Fellows new website

Fellows launches new responsive website

Fellows Auctioneers has launched a newly-coded ‘responsive’ website that presents the best possible experience, whether the visitor is using a desktop or mobile device.

The new Fellows website offers quick and easy access to essential information about all of the services provided by the auctioneers while retaining all of the functionality of the previous design.

Responsive websites, as discussed in this month’s issue of WatchPro, are presented with information about which device is being used by the visitor and then provide a tailored experience best-suiting the device’s display and input methods. Visitors using smartphones or tablets to browse will often be presented with a more image-heavy presentation with larger links to suit touchscreen input.

Stephen Whittaker, Fellows managing director, explains: “Having a fully response website will allow our clients to experience all the functionality of Fellows – whether they want to view a catalogue, place a bid, or request a valuation – on any mobile device. It is ground-breaking for a regional auction house to develop a fully-functioning responsive website, and demonstrates Fellows’ commitment to pioneering new technology for the auction industry.”

The new website boasts a clean and contemporary design, with a muted colour palette of purple and grey. Fellows’ in-house photography services are evident throughout the site, highlighted in particular by the scrolling home page images of each auction catalogue front cover.
