Felipe Pantone brings riot of colour to limited edition Zenith Defy Extreme

Zenith previously worked with the artist on a facade for its Le Locle factory and later on a one off Defy 21 made for the Only Watch 2021 charity auction.

Zenith’s latest collaboration watch is with Felipe Pantone, a Valencia-based artist known for the use of bold colours in his kinetic artwork.

The DEFY Extreme Felipe Pantone, a limited edition of 100, goes on sale exclusively at Zenith’s physical and ecommerce stores on October 27.

The watch merges the precision of Zenith’s Defy Extreme and its 1/100th of a second chronograph movement with the colourful art of the enigmatic Mr Pantone.

Zenith previously worked with the artist on a facade for its Le Locle factory and later on a one off Defy 21 made for the Only Watch 2021 charity auction.

“Once again, I’m ultra-happy to announce a new collaboration with the Swiss horology masters at Zenith. For this watch, I applied and referenced some of the concepts behind my Planned Iridescence series. For the first time, I intervened a piece of sapphire creating a radial hologram that appears only under the right light in an astounding way. The watch is full of incredible details, possible after a long year collaborating back-to-back with the team at Le Locle,” Mr Pantone says.

The DEFY Extreme Felipe Pantone is made from mirror-polished stainless steel with its bezel and chronograph pusher protectors made from translucent blue glass.

Four corners of the case are engraved with “FP#1”, a coded signature for “Felipe Pantone El Primero”.

Priced at £25,300, the watch can be worn on a polished steel bracelet or swapped for a black velcro strap.
