Fears Watches introduces customisation service for its British gentlemens’ timepieces

Fears Watches, a 170 year old British watch brand brought back to life last year after a 60 year hiatus, is building its image around the desires of a classic English gentleman.

The company has been relaunched by Nicholas Bowman-Scargill (pictured above), the original founder’s great-great-great-grandson, who exudes the air of a certain type of gentleman, making him the ideal frontman for the grand.

Fears is launching a new service next month called Fears Custom, which lets customers order made to measure watch straps as well as engraving for their timepieces.

The service will be introduced at an event on April 5 called Details of a Gentleman, a London showcase of several independent brands that all target the modern day gentleman.

Exhibitors include The Jaunty Flaneur shoe care & accessories; Empire’s Union made to measure tailoring; Thomas Clipper double-edged safety razors and shaving equipment; Rampley & Co silk pocket squares featuring artwork from the great art galleries; Sharp and Dapper hand-made men’s accessories; shirt stays, ties, braces, arm bands; Pall Mall Barbers doing shaves and beard trims on the night; Ascot Shoes distributor of Vass handmade, hand-welted made-to-order shoes; and Maseru Okuyama, a bespoke shoemaker from Japan

The event is taking place at Lanes of London on Park Lane during the evening of Wednesday 5th April, 6-9pm.
