Farer launches with adventure-inspired collection

A new British brand is launching today with a collection of vintage-inspired watches as its first product line.

Farer launches with a collection of six timepieces which take design their cues from vintage Swiss watches of the 1950s and 1960s but add an inspired dash of colour, usually on the hands and dial markers.

The company has been launched by the quartet behind branding and lifestyle agency www.otherway.com , which includes Shore Projects co-founder Jono Holt. They have backgrounds in watches, design, retail and branding.

The collection, with each piece named after a British adventurer, also includes two, four-hand GMT watches. The brand’s timepiece signature touch is a bronze-coated crown which sits in stark contrast to the 39mm brushed stainless steel cases.

The quartz watches are all designed in Britain and made in Switzerland. Each features a domed sapphire crystal glass and a curved sunray dial beneath.

Farer presents the collection, priced between £325 and £425, on interchangeable Italian leather strap and stainless steel Milanese mesh bracelets. The brand website, which will offer direct sales, is set to launch today, while Selfridges have secured a retail exclusive over the Christmas period beginning next month.
