EXCLUSIVE: Marcus Watches closes Bond Street store

Luxury watch retailer Marcus Watches has closed its namesake store in London.

The Bond Street location, which has been bought by Japanese company Tasaki, closed on Sunday after 17 years of trading.

The move comes after owner Marcus Margulies made the decision to focus his efforts on an “upcoming development”.

Caroline Kemp, of Margulies’ family company Time Products, told WatchPro: “He is changing the concept of how he sells watches.”

The businessman plans to unveil his upcoming plans in the first half of 2018.

All sales will be conducted through the Time Products office in Dover Street until the project launches next year.

Almar watches, also owned by Time Products, in Burlington Arcade and is set to become a Hublot pop-up store at the end of this year but will re-open after the temporary store.
