Max Brown, head of retail support and Heather Templeton, head of finance, have been elevated to the board of directors at Chisholm Hunter.
The strengthening of the group’s senior leadership team comes in the same month that it opened its newest showroom in Dundee.
The store will offer watches from Omega, Tudor, Zenith, Longines, Chanel and, for the first time at a Chisholm Hunter boutique, IWC.
Harry Brown, managing director for Chisholm Hunter, says the promotions to the board are part of the group’s continuing aim of elevating customers’ shopping experience.
“We are delighted to announce that both Heather and Max are moving in to directorship roles within the business. 2020 has been a year in which all retailers have had to adapt to meet an ever-hanging high street. Chisholm Hunter’s principal aim has remained the same: to develop lasting client relationships through the delivery of a fabulous shopping experience. This ambition can only be met through the empowerment of each member of Chisholm Hunter family. I therefore hope that this positive change in structure will provide further support to all of those within the business on their own career journeys,” he tells WatchPro.
Harry Brown has consistently said that promotions are awarded purely on merit, so his son Max will have had to earn his seat on the board and will need to keep improving the performance of the group’s stores.
“It is humbling to work alongside such a passionate and driven group of people at Chisholm Hunter,” he says. “With that said, my continued sole focus will be to support both our fabulous team and invaluable partners as we all aim to put a smile on our clients faces.”
Ms Templeton, who has been with Chisholm Hunter for a decade, says she has benefited from the mentoring and leadership of Harry Brown. “I share his goals for integrity throughout all areas of the business. I am looking forward to adding a further dimension as the company continues to strive for excellence within the market place,” she says.
In such a difficult year, she says that sticking to its principles has been more important than ever at Chisholm Hunter. “A real test of leadership is how one copes during challenging times which many businesses are facing now more than ever. We have remained committed to our core values upon which the business foundations have been built, and this has enabled us to retain a leading market presence during this time,” Ms Templeton describes.

Amazing to hear Ms Templeton speak about integrity the way the staff are treated. This business also required all staff to work in the office, not socially distant, throughout lockdown at a reduced wage.
