EXCLUSIVE: Chisholm Hunter dedicates entire Glasgow showroom to Swatch Group brands

Chisholm Hunter is refurbishing one of its properties in Glasgow’s Argyll Arcade into a showroom presenting Blancpain, Breguet, and Glashütte Original watches, which are all Swatch Group brands.

The Blancpain, Breguet, and Glashütte Original boutique will be over two floors, with the upstairs converted into a luxurious bar.

Chisholm Hunter, which has 24 stores throughout the UK, is becoming one of Swatch Group’s most significant partners at an era when the group has increasingly focused its energy on direct to consumer monobrand stores.

Mr Brown says he has worked hard to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with the group over many years. “I have always found them great to deal with. We have worked really hard together. We used to have Omega in three or four shops, but we lost it because the shops were not right at the time, and the decision was probably the right one. We have learned and changed since that time. I respect other people’s decisions; I might not always agree, but I like to think we learn from our mistakes. They are a huge company with a very long term view and can be very strategic. When I look at the watches, at the movements, they are amazing for the prices,” he says.

Chisholm Hunter’s recently opened flagship on Edinburgh’s Prince’s Street is also home to a number of Swatch Group luxury brands including Breguet and Blancpain.
