Eterna creates limited edition diver to mark 70 years since the KonTiki expedition

Eterna is marking the 70th anniversary of Thor Heyerdahl’s legendary KonTiki expedition with the launch of the KonTiki Bronze Manufacture Limited Edition divers’ watch.

It is the first time Eterna has ever made a watch out of bronze, and has other eye-catching design elements including triangular luminescent hour markers contrasted against a jet-black, granite-patterned dial.

The watch has a unidirectional rotating bezel around a dial carrying what Eterna calls a no decompression limits scale. The scale provides divers with information that helps them calculate how long they can spent at a particular depth underwater before they have to decompress.

It uses the Maison Eterna 3902A movement, which has a power reserve of 65 hours.

Only 300 pieces of the 44mm watch are being made, which will retail for £3200 in the UK.
