Sir Elton John kicked off his Farewell Yellow Brick Road in New York with two nights at Madison Square Garden last night (October 18), and to mark the occasion, the legendary musician has worked with Bamford Watch Department to customise ten watches from his personal collection.
All ten watches are Franck Muller pieces, and Sir Elton was personally involved in their design. Franck Muller also approved the customisation.
“I am thrilled to work with Bamford Watch Department to put a very personal spin on some of the Franck Muller pieces that I have collected over the years. These ten pieces were handpicked from my archive. The team at Bamford Watch Department have carefully applied the swirl design I love so much onto the faces, and added a custom Elton second hand,” says Sir Elton John.
George Bamford, owner of Bamford Watch Department, adds: “It was such an honour to customise this collection of watches owned by Sir Elton John. Vibrant colour and design have become a trademark of Sir Elton and so it was great to incorporate that within these carefully selected watches. Gaining the approval of Franck Muller to customise their watches for the first time and creating this wonderful collection has been a special project for Bamford Watch Department.”
The limited-edition pieces, which launched exclusively at Dover Street Market New York on Thursday, October 18th, with prices ranging from $11,000 to $22,000.
They will be sold in the Bamford Watch Department boxes encased in a special acrylic outer box, made specifically for this collection. The Bamford Watch Department will also offer the opportunity to order a customised watch strap, to fit any requested wrist size.
