Elliot Brown names its own race in world yacht event

Ever-growing British watch brand Elliot Brown has named one of the races that set off yesterday at the Clipper Round the World Race.

Race 4, named the Elliot Brown Timekeeper Cup, departed City of Albany in Western Australia and set sail for Sydney.

Ian Elliot, previous double WatchPro Hot 100 member and co-founder of Elliot Brown, said:  “As long time surfers and watermen, Race 4 feels like our natural race.
As the clock counts down, its combination of solid Southern Ocean swells and (hopefully) sun on the crews’ backs should prove exhilarating and challenging in equal measure,” Elliot mused. “We should see some extraordinarily high boat speeds to add to the excitement factor if the fleet manages to hook into the westerlies.  Happy surfing teams – the heat is on to Sydney!”

Elliot Brown watches are being worn by Skippers and crew to test their durability in the extreme conditions of the event.  The brand is producing 1,000 special edition Clipper Race crew member watches – the Canford 202-015 – which are priced at £395.

This watch sports a shock-protected Swiss movement, effective resistance to water and dust courtesy of a unique triple sealing system and every model is tested in water to 200m.  Each watch comes with a premium leather black deployant strap, as well as a black canvas deployant with contrasting red stitching.  The special edition case back is engraved and numbered with ‘crew edition’ and Clipper Race detailing.

It is the latest good-news story for the ever-impressive British brand.
