Electricianz kick-starts creation of hybrid electro-mechanical watches

1

Electricianz is using crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to generate pre-orders for its latest creation: a collection of watches that use an inhouse electrical module and a mechanical movement to tell the time.

The Kickstarter launch will take place later this year, but people can register now to be alerted when it goes live.

Electricianz’s Hybrid Mechanical Time Display E-Circuit collection comes in a range of colours including black, gunmetal, copper, bronze and blue.

They all use a skeletonised Miyota automatic movement in conjunction with an electric module that shows the passage of time with a series of blinking LED lights on the dial (see video at the top).

The 43mm steel watches are expected to retail for $690, but there could be special offers for Kickstarter investors.
