Du Maurier Watches signs up to London Watch Show

Du Maurier Watches will be exhibiting at the London Watch Show with the intention of reaching a wider retail audience.

The brand, which produces watches with quintessentially English design and Swiss made movements was founded by writer Daphne du Maurier’s grandson Ned du Maurier Browning and his wife Marianna, will be among the exhibitors at the inaugural London Watch Show, which is taking place on July 2 and 3 at the Freemason’s Hall in London.

Speaking about taking part in the event, Marianna du Maurier Browning said: "Our first collection featuring the Maxim men’s watch and the Rebecca for women was launched only a couple of months ago but the response we’ve had so far has been phenomenal with most of our early limited edition numbers sold out and press coverage gained in, amongst others, Country Life and Vogue. Now we have seen the response from press and consumers, we are ready to take our watches to a wider market through retail. The London Watch Show will provide the perfect forum for us to begin this process. It is not easy for a new, independent English brand to get a foot on the ladder and the London Watch Show will give us the opportunity to show our beautiful designs to retailers who may not otherwise get to see us so soon."

She added: "The London Watch Show is the right show at the right time. It will provide retailers and brands with the opportunity to consolidate established relationships alongside a fantastic forum to showcase and discover exciting new, independent brands. The watch industry shows no sign of slowing down so it is great to see that WatchPro has taken the initiative to produce the first, much anticipated, UK trade show. English brands are going from strength to strength and so will the London Watch Show."
