Dior Timepieces adds to Grand Bal collection with new model featuring black feathers

The Dior Grand Bal Plume is said to combine the tiger eye stones’ intensity with the elegance of black feathers.

Dior Timepieces has added to its Grand Bal collection with a new model in 36mm.

The Dior Grand Bal Plume is said to combine the tiger eye stones’ intensity with the elegance of black feathers, which are set on the oscillating weight next to the diamonds.

The model is equipped with an automatic movement, exclusive to the Maison Dior, the “Dior Inversé 11 1⁄2” calibre, featuring a patented and functional oscillating weight which the company says recreates “the swirl of a ball gown.”

In a press release, Dior Timepieces said: “Combining feather-making know-how, specific to Haute Couture, with watchmaking technology, this model is elaborated with great delicacy, like a feathered petticoat embroidered with diamonds.”

The case is crafted from polished stainless steel bezel set with round-cut diamonds and decorated with a pink gold ring.

It comes equipped with a tiger eye stone dial, with white faceted hour and minute hands, while there is a black velvet strap and a steel prong buckle set with round-cut diamonds.

The product – which is also water resistant up to 50 metres – is limited edition, with only 88 pieces available.
