Online auction house The Auction Room has appointed a watch expert with 25 years experience as specialist and manufacturer to curate its monthly watch sales.
Jonathan Darracott, who has been appointed Watch Specialist at The Auction Room, was European Head of Watches and Worldwide Senior Specialist at Sotheby’s for 12 years. He then became managing director of a small luxury watch manufacturer in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland, before returning to the UK as director of Breitling’s after sales service centre.
Darracott began making jewellery at the age of 14 before completing British Horological Institute (BHI) and WOSTEP training. He is a member of the BHI and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers.
Watch sales at The Auction Room, an online auction house offering traditional viewings, focus on watches in the £500-£10,000 price range.
