Damien Hirst dotty for Raymond Weil BRIT watches

Raymond Weil has released the first images of its BRIT Awards timepieces for 2013, featuring a spotty caseback design by artist Damien Hirst.

The brand is Official Watch and Timing Partner of the annual music awards ceremony and, following on from the past few years, has again created two limited edition BRIT Awards watches. The 2013 Freelancer timepieces will be gifted to performers, presenters and VIP guests attending the awards ceremony at London’s O2 Arena, which takes place on February 20.

A limited number of these special designs will also be available to see via high-end jewellers, watch retailers nationwide.

The men’s version, the Limited Edition BRIT Awards 2013 Freelancer 7730-STC-65025, has a 42mm stainless steel case, automatic movement with 46-hour power reserve, a silver dial with rose gold hands and indexes and soft brown leather strap with folding clasp.

The women’s version, the Limited Edition BRIT Awards 2013 Freelancer 2770-ST5-65021, has a sizeable 38mm stainless steel case, an automatic movement with 38-hour power reserve, a silver dial with rose gold hands and indexes and Clous de Paris motif in the centre with a stainless steel bracelet.

Each watch has been finished with an exhibition caseback decorated with this year’s BRIT Awards logo, featuring the trademark spot design of British artist Damien Hirst. The design has also been carried through to the BRIT Award trophies for 2013.

Pierre Bernheim, director of Raymond Weil, said: “We are delighted to continue our support of The BRIT Awards in association with MasterCard for the sixth year in succession. 2012 [was] an exceptional year for British music and Raymond Weil is proud to have supported the likes of Emeli Sande, Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah and Labrinth and will continue our support of emerging British talent in 2013. We hope everyone likes the new limited edition BRITs timepieces that we feel are reflective of the importance of our love of quality and support of such a prestigious event.”

The brand last year created limited edition watches for the Classic BRITs, with award winners gifted the watches during a ceremony in October.
