Czapek & Cie creates chronograph vision in blue and gold

Sometimes it takes a watchmaker a few attempts to truly perfect a watch’s look and feel.

The first iterations of Czapek & Cie’s Faubourg de Cracovie in steel and titanium were beautiful and elegant timepieces, but a rose gold reference that launches this week alongside a yellow gold model, has elevated the collection to a new level.

There are only eight pieces of each gold watch, named Océan d’Or, and they are certain to be in huge demand.

The chronograph’s case has an elegantly integrated set of pushers and crown that take a back seat to the stunning blue and gold Résonance-patterned guilloche dial.

It has central hours, minutes and chronograph hands with small seconds and chronograph minutes and hours arranged in sub dials at 6, 9 and 3 o’clock.

The collection uses Czapek’s COSC-certified, automatic SXH3 Caliber with 65 hours of power reserve from a single barrel.

The movement’s diamond-blasted anthracite bridges and golden oscillating weight can be seen through a transparent case back.

The blue of the dial is achieved using a special ALD coating developed by another Czapek partner, Positive Coating, based in La-Chaux- de-Fonds.

The Océan d’Or limited edition is available at the brand’s official retailers, at the store in Rue de la Corraterie 18, Geneva, Switzerland, and on czapek.com for CHF 46,000.
