Corum invites modern artists to go crazy on dial of 52mm Big Bubbles

Corum brings the worlds of modern art and fine watchmaking together in its Bubble and Big Bubble watch collections.

The concept behind the watches is to provide blank canvases that contemporary artists can use to create incredible designs.

The largest Big Bubble watches are housed in 52mm cases, providing ample space for “creative craziness”, as the brand describes the artistic process.

“Big Bubble opens the door to further creativity, more space to express creativity and joy, to state your mind, to make the difference,” Corum says. It provides 52mm of space to be unique, to express your vision, to craft your dream”.

Among the Big Bubble watches unveiled at Baselworld was one created by Matt Barnes, a Canadian photographer famous for creating pop culture images.

His watch features a voodoo figure brooding within the titanium case and vulcanised rubber strap that also features dark and mysterious colours.

The mysterious watch does not have numerals and hides its hands inside the dial.

DJ and composer Matteo Ceccarini was responsible for another striking Big Bubble, featuring a three-dimensional eye, which the artist says has been seen as a protective symbol and used as a kind of lucky charm since ancient times.
