It has been ten years since Daniel Malins and I launched WATCHPRO on a wing and a prayer, knowing next to nothing about the global watch business, let alone the intricacies of a constant force tourbillon.
What we did know was that the UK was one of the biggest markets in the world for watches, but the multi-billion pound industry had no trade title to keep its leading players informed and entertained.
WATCHPRO magazine and this website took off slowly as a business to business title at first, but have gathered speed and altitude over the past decade and now the title is read every month by over 200,000 people.
Less than 10% of our readers are from the trade, which means we have the largest audience of watch enthusiasts for any title in the UK.
Plus we have separate WATCHPRO editions for Germany and the United States.
Tomorrow we make our next great leap forward with the opening of WATCHPRO Salon, and you are all invited to spend time with almost 50 brands and partners, plus enjoy a fascinating line up of talks, which take place on Saturday.
The more I have written about the watches that will be on show at Salon, the more excited I have become.
I feel like a child on Christmas Eve and cannot wait to get to the event.
Not only will the watches and presentations be amazing, the venue is incredible too. It is worth heading to Salon just to look around the brand new 5-star luxury The Londoner Hotel on Leicester Square.
