CMJ boss steps down after 20 months at the helm

Company of Master Jewellers CEO, Terry Boot, is stepping down after only 20 months at the helm.

The buying group’s boss has decided to leave the industry and return to a career path dedicated to financial operations.

Helen Dimmick, with more than 20 years’ experience in the sector and who previously worked at the CMJ, will be joining the organisation in a consultancy role on April 23 to ensure that there is a smooth handover.

CMJ chairman, Michael Aldridge, remarks: “Terry has been instrumental in restructuring and reorganising the CMJ and leaves the business in an extremely strong financial position with a solid foundation to move into the future.”

Boot’s exit follows the news that Lucy Reece-Raybould is also leaving the CMJ and the jewellery industry all together.

With these major leadership changes, Aldridge says the buying group will now be looking at how the organisation is structured.

Aldridge adds: “I’d like to thank Terry for all of his hard work and wish him the very best for the future.

“We are excited about the return of Helen Dimmick, who is the ideal person to provide consultancy to the business during this exciting time of transition. She brings more than 20 years’ experience in the jewellery sector and is a leading voice in business transformation and innovation.”
