Clive Ranger closes stores after no buyer found

South west and Wales retailer Clive Ranger has closed three stores of its four stores a month after going into administration.

The 36-year-old business has been unable to secure a buyer for its jewellery stores in Bath, Bristol and Swansea. A total 27 jobs have been lost following the closures.

The Cardiff store will continue to trade with the hope of finding a buyer for the business. Clive Ranger sold branded jewellery and watches and was also known as "the diamond specialist" owing to its range of diamond wedding and engagement rings.Deloitte appointed administrator for Clive Ranger in March said that it would work to find a buyer for the company.

Paul Evans, director of the restructuring services team at Deloitte said: "As no buyer has been found to date, the business will regretfully wind down. This was the cause of the Bath, Bristol and Swansea stores closing during the last couple of weeks which resulted in 27 redundancies.

"The Cardiff store is currently still trading and it is hoped that a sale of this store will be achieved."
