American watch brand Jorg Gray has promoted Claire Perkins to the position of chief operating officer in the UK. She will now oversee the operations for the company, its brand management and customer service.
Perkins joined the brand two years ago as operations manager and has been behind its steady growth in the UK, tripling its sales during the festive period 2011, while raising brand awareness. She also appears as the UK representative at international trade shows such as BaselWorld.
A release from the brand said: “Claire has been a key part of the success of Jorg Gray in the UK and has earned her promotion to this important position”.
Perkins will also be responsible for directly managing Jorg Gray’s growth in the UK while keeping the company on course to achieve its stated corporate goals.
She said: “It has been exciting to be a part of Jorg Gray’s growth over the last two years.
"We have organized the company to be even more service oriented, and are establishing a team that can drive Jorg Gray to the next level and are poised to become a significant player in the UK watch industry. Jorg Gray is definitely here to stay in the UK.”
The brand is best known for Barack Obama wearing its 6500 chronograph during his inauguration as President of the United States.
Its watches are sold in retailers across the United States and in major cities around the world including London, Bangkok, Mexico City and Kuala Lumpur.
The watches are meticulously crafted combining materials such as sapphire crystal, Swiss movements and leather, rubber and stainless steel straps.
