City law firm hosts free agentlaw seminar

City law firm Fox Williams is hosting its annual agentlaw seminar in January, focusing on the legal aspects of using or acting as local distributors or agents.

Topics for discussion at the 2016 event, chaired by Stephen Sidkin who leads Fox Williams’ agentlaw team, will include:

  • Compensation or indemnity, can indemnity ever be better for agents under the Commercial Agents Regulations?  Emma Roake, Fox Williams
  • Using agents and distributors overseas?  Why it is important to get the governing law right.  Rebecca Richardson, Fox Williams
  • Is selective distribution the way forward for brands?  Laura Monro, Fox Williams
  • Funding litigation, the new alphabet of financing your distributorship and agency disputes.  Tom Custance, Fox Williams

Guest speaker at the free event will be Oliver Segal QC, a leading barrister within the field of the Commercial Agency Regulations, who acts for both agents and principals. Segal will present “Are you competing comfortably?  When can agents act for competitors and what can happen when they cannot.”

The free seminar will be held at Fox Williams’ new offices at 10 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1AF at 6pm on Wednesday 20 January with a networking event afterwards.
