You can’t repeat the exact pattern twice when using the French ombré technique of lightly scratching a surface to create a shaded finish, so every one of the 300 Christopher Ward C60 Trident Ombré COSC Limited Editions being made are unique.
It is not the first time the British watch business has used the ombré technique. The brand’s fans will remember it used on the dials of an earlier Trident watch with a bronze case.
The new C60 is the first time the finish has been used in a steel watch.
Constructed from marine-grade stainless steel, the 42mm watch uses Christopher Ward’s updated Trident 3 indexes and hands consisting of a triangular hour hand, baton-shaped minute hand and seconds hand complete with trident-shaped counterbalance.
The chronometer-certified dive watch, which is waterproof to 600 metres, houses an automatic Sellita SW200 movement.
It is sold with two strap options: leather or a hybrid for £895 or a steel bracelet edition costing £995.
