“Trident is more than a bestseller for us, it epitomises the progress of Christopher Ward,” says Mike France CEO and co-founder of Christopher Ward. “The design and technical advancements that we have made in the new Trident 3 are symbolic of the strides we have taken as a business since then. We have made the best watches we possibly could have done,” he adds.
There are three all-new Trident 3s launching today (May 1): the C60 Trident Pro 600, the C60 Trident GMT 600 and the C60 Trident Titanium Elite 1000.
C60 Trident Pro 600 is offered in slightly smaller 38mm and 42mm versions along with a new 40mm size in its black dial, black bezel configuration.
“Our customers were crying out for a 40mm C60 Trident Pro 600 – so we were happy to oblige,” says Mr France.
The whole Trident 3 collection is easier to read thanks to a high contrast, smooth polished dial in place of the guilloche wave patterned dial of the Trident 2. There is also better luminosity and a bolder triangular hour hand with polished facets.
The case is slimmer and lighter with a re-engineered crown and is sold with the option of a on a redesigned brushed stainless steel bracelet with the same quick-release mechanism first introduced on the brand’s range of leather straps.
There is also the choice of a new Hybrid sport strap, crafted from waterproof Cordura, a nylon-based fabric, and rubber.
“[Trident 3] is masculine and more aggressive looking than before,” says Christopher Ward head of product design Adrian Buchmann.
Options include the C60 Trident Elite 1000, limited to 300 pieces in a titanium case, a traveller’s C60 Trident GMT 600 and the three-handed with date C60 Trident Pro 600.
Christopher Ward sells only online. Prices of the 2019 Trident 3 range from £695 to £1250.
