Christopher Ward raises £17,500 in Remembrance Day charity auction

British watchmaker Christopher Ward sold a ‘000’ prototype of its C8 P7350 Limited Edition Chronometer for £17,500 in a silent auction to raise money for military veteran charities.

The auction, which was live for only 11 hours on November 7, saw bidding surge past the £3450 retail price of a regular C8 P7350 Chronometer.

The watch, which was created in partnership with TMB Art Metal, is embedded with historic Duralumin metal sourced from the only remaining airworthy Spitfire to have flown in the Battle of Britain.

Only 75 pieces of this special limited edition collection were made.

“When we originally created the C8 P7350 Chronometer to honour the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain we saw an incredible response from our customers. We are immensely proud that this year, to build on this, we were able to utilise the ‘000’ prototype to honour Remembrance Day and raise an incredible £17,500 for two very worthwhile charities,” said Christopher Ward co-founder Mike France.

All funds raised from the auction will be donated to two of the UK’s largest military charities The Royal British Legion and SSAFA.
