Christie’s Geneva to auction off collection of 101 Cartier clocks

The Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva will host the auction, with estimates for the collection ranging from CHF 3.9 million (£3.3 million) to CHF 5.7 million (£4.9 million).

The Geneva branch of famed auction house Christie’s is bringing a collection of 101 Cartier clocks to auction on July 1, 2020.

The Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva will host the auction, with estimates for the collection ranging from CHF 3.9 million (£3.3 million) to CHF 5.7 million (£4.9 million).

Estimates for individual clocks, however, begin at CHF 8,000 (£6,760).

The clocks were made over a period of more than 80 years, and the entire Cartier Collection – which has often been exhibited at museums and also includes watches, jewellery and art – took 30 years to curate.

Some of the pieces on offer can be viewed below:

Viewings for the collection will run June 27-30, 10am until 6pm every day. On July 1, the clocks will be sold at the beginning of the 2pm session of the auction.
