Chisholm Hunter takes on Ball for BMW watches

By Kathryn Lewis

The luxury Swiss watch brand Ball, which recently unveiled a new collection for BMW in Beijing, will be on sale at the Chisholm Hunter branch in Kent.

Chisholm Hunter is the first shop in the UK to carry the Ball for BMW watch range.

The new line of Ball watches is inspired by BMW cars and includes details inspired by the car manufacturer’s engines and bodies.

“BMW is synonymous with high technology, so we wanted to pay homage to that by utilizing the full scope of our watchmaking expertise,” Philippe Antille, chief technology officer at Ball Watch explained in a statement.

Magali Métrailler, the Ball designer heading up the project described it as “a line that is lightness personified.”

The design, according to the watchmaker, plays on the shared features between Ball watches and BMW, namely lightness, performance and technology. The watchmaker aimed to make something that was both functional and rational.

Features of the watch include solo tempo and GMT function. A more sophisticated version is equipped with a power reserve indicator.

Ball said it plans to launch a special edition BMW watch with its famous mechanical thermometer module, and an essential chronograph version that will be “unashamedly distinguished in appearance”.
