Chisholm Hunter invests £2.5 million improving key showrooms north and south of the border

Glasgow flagship given exclusive agency for Breguet and Blancpain in Scotland while Bluewater store moves to triple-A location.

Chisholm Hunter says it has invested £2.5 million in the expansion and refurbishment of its Glasgow flagship and the opening of a double-sized store in Kent’s Bluewater shopping centre.

The opening in Kent takes the UK-wide Chisholm Hunter network to 24 stores.

Bluewater is now described as one of Chisholm Hunter’s most prestigious stores thanks to a £1.5 million investment that has moved a former store that was not in a triple-A location to a prime spot in the shopping centre and a showroom that is double the size of the previous one.

“Our previous location performed incredibly well. However, it did not allow us to provide the cut above experience for our customers to the best of our ability. The standard has been set in our Princes Street [Edinburgh] boutique with our co-hosted luxury events and customers’ money can’t buy experiences. The site in Bluewater is in the best location in the centre — directly next to Marks & Spencer — it is twice the size of the previous store, and has its own champagne bar and VIP area. I am confident Bluewater can now perform to the same unrivalled standards as its Princes Street counterpart,” says Harry Brown, managing director of Chisholm Hunter.

An additional £1 million has been spent refurbishing and expanding Chisholm Hunter’s original Argyll Arcade, Glasgow, flagship, which now occupies two floors and has added Swatch Group’s Breguet, Blancpain and Glashutte Original to its portfolio of prestigious watch brands. It continues to stock Parmigiani Fleurier and Bremont among other luxury marques.

“The launch of our Glasgow flagship is also an important milestone for the company because as well as being Scotland’s largest jeweller, Chisholm Hunter is also a family business which was first established in the city in 1857. This store illustrates our commitment to Glasgow and we remain focused on showcasing the world’s leading brands while providing a premium shopping experience which exceeds all expectations,” Mr Brown describes.

“There is a real competitive atmosphere in the location due to the concentration of Jewelers. With that in mind, we are always looking to create completely unique experience in each of our six boutiques. This combined with the fact we were offered the opportunity to expand our partnership with Breguet, Blancpain, and Glashütte Original — brands that are exclusive to us in Scotland — made it an easy decision,” he adds.
