Cheltenham thieves escape with Omegas and Rolexes

Thieves have made off with a haul of watches worth tens of thousands of pounds after raiding a Cheltenham jewellers according to the Gloucestershire Echo.

Frederick Allen, on Winchcombe Street, in Cheltenham town centre, was targeted by two men at 11.30 this morning.

The pair entered the shop, with one wearing a balaclava and the other a knitted hat and glasses, and threatened members of staff before escaping with a haul of watches, thought to be Omegas and Rolexes, in a silver Citroen Xantia.

A member of staff suffered a minor neck injury but did not require medical treatment. Police are now viewing CCTV footage and investigating whether a getaway driver was also involved.
