It is remarkable how much quality and heritage you can get in a £645 watch these days. Take Certina’s 2019 DS PH200M, for example, which just hit stores.

This is a dive watch with a history dating back to 1967 and, because it is from the Swatch Group stable, continues to have access to the automatic ETA Powermatic 80.111 movememt with 80 hours of power reserve.

Its polished stainless steel 42.8mm case has a rotating bezel with immersion time scale, screw-down crown and screw-down case back making it resistant to 200 meters.

And it is sold with interchangeable stainless steel Milanese mesh bracelet and blue-gray NATO strap.

The vintage reissue comes with retro-style domed hesalite box crystal glass protecting its black dial with hours, minutes, seconds and date.
