Cartier wins Best Watchmaker prize at Grand Prix

Cartier’s head of technical development Carole Forestier-Kasapi has been awarded the Best Watchmaker Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2012.

Forestier-Kasapi was the only person to be awarded on the night, with the remaining prizes given out to exceptional timepieces. Among the prize winners at the Grand Prix included Chanel, MB&F, HYT, TAG Heuer, Zenith and one-to-watch brand, Habring 2.

Cartier said: “This is strong recognition for the superb work Carole has done, both in her current capacity as Head of Technical Development at Cartier as well as in her earlier career.”

Forestier-Kasapi can be accredited with the design of the Rotonde de Cartier Astroregulateur and Cartier’s skeleton watches.

The brand said she has “helped to redefine the 21st century approach to watchmaking, whilst retaining the core values of Maison Cartier”.
