Cartier takes centre stage at newly opened Mappin & Webb in Glasgow

Mappin & Webb has established a fresh contemporary open plan look with the opening of a two-storey showroom at the entrance to the Argyll Arcade and Glasgow’s Buchanan Street.

Mappin & Webb has established a fresh contemporary open plan look with the opening of a two-storey showroom at the entrance to the Argyll Arcade and Glasgow’s Buchanan Street.

Lacking either Rolex or Patek Philippe as anchor brands, the store has instead elevated the status of Cartier watches with a window onto the main shopping thoroughfare, a large L-shaped branded area and dedicated client seating.

There are also branded areas for Jaeger-LeCoultre and Girard-Perregaux at street level and Tudor and Breitling branded on the first floor.

Mappin & Webb, which is The Crown Jeweller, has branded jewellery areas on the first floor for Messika and Roberto Coin in addition to displays for FOPE, Maison Birks and own brand Mappin & Webb.

Customers can relax at a number of seated areas, a fully-stocked bar and private sales rooms throughout the store.

“We are thrilled to be opening our new showroom in Glasgow. Mappin & Webb Glasgow now features the latest design concept, which is both luxurious and sophisticated, with the aim of showcasing the iconic pieces from the brand, as well and those from the brand partners,” says Craig Bolton, president of the Watches of Switzerland Group UK & Europe.

“The showroom has an elegant colour palette and features the finest mix of materials, to create a softer, more feminine environment,” he adds.
