Carl Suchy & Söhne spins story of Vienna in monochrome Waltz watch

Carl Suchy & Söhne, which celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2022, will be hoping its home city of Vienna emerges from its current hard lock down to a brighter new year.

The independent watchmaker is proud of its Viennese connections, and is celebrating the city in a limited edition that brings together both the white and black dial of its Waltz N°1 watches.

The Waltz N°1 Day & Night is described as the perfect companion for discovering Austria’s capital as it reveals its charms as a 24 hour city.

Its monochrome palette and sharp lines take inspiration from the great designers and architects that shaped the design of Vienna around 1900.

Like Yin and Yang, the seconds disc at 6 o’clock dances its circles, bringing together the seemingly contrasting colors in perfect harmony and then again dividing the dial into two perfect halves every full minute.

It comes in a 41.5mm steel case with black DLC coating housing an adapted self-winding caliber VMF 5401 by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier.

The special edition is limited to ten wristwatches.
