Carl F. Bucherer, the watchmaking business owned by global retail group Bucherer, has joined the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) as its 44th partner-brand.

FHH was established in 2005 by Audemars Piguet, Girard-Perregaux and the Richemont Group. Its objective is to promote Fine Watchmaking worldwide.

Carl F. Bucherer’s history dates all the way back to 1888, making this year its 130th anniversary. During the early 2000s, the company made progress towards its goal of becoming a manufacture and released its first inhouse movement in 2008.

Since then, Carl F. Bucherer has continued to develop its R&D and manufacturing at a new production site in Lengnau, near Biel, Switzerland.

Carl F. Bucherer has been growing its retail network this year, having taken control of its own distribution. Parent group Bucherer bought Tourneau in January this year and Baron & Leeds in August.
