Camden Watch Company crowdfunds its first automatic collection

The Camden Watch Company returned to Kickstarter this month to fund the launch of its first collection of automatics.

Within a week, the £18,000 target was hit, with 64 backers paying to be first to receive the No.29 Automatic timepieces.

In total, 61 watches were sold via Kickstarter, including 14 limited editions.

Camden Watch Company was created in 2014 by Anneke Short and Jerome Robert, and is known for quartz watches inspired by Victorian Britain.

The first Camden Watch Co. Automatic truly reflects the brand’s identity by bringing back to life Camden’s industrial and railway heritage.

The No.29 automatic uses the same design as its quartz version and is presented in black and steel for the regular collection and black and rose gold in a limited edition.

Its 43mm steel case houses a Japanese Miyota 8215 automatic movement with a 42 hour power reserve.

The regular edition will sell for £350-£375.

“The No.29 automatic watch is real labour of love. A watch that has been meticulously designed and thought through to the very last detail. Our magnum opus,” says Mr Robert.

“We are extremely proud of our quartz watches but there is just something magical about an automatic watch,” adds Ms Short.
