Bucherer closes all 35 European stores

Coronavirus concerns for staff and customers prompt luxury watch and jewellery giant to move ahead of official mandates.

Official instructions vary across Europe and the United States concerning the closure of all non-essential stores, but Bucherer has taken the decision to shutter all of its showrooms world-wide, including Tourneau in the USA.

Notice was sent out to customers this morning, and a check across the European network shows a message with every store in Switzerland, Germany, UK, France, Austria and Denmark that the premises is closed.

This includes monobrand boutiques run by Bucherer, such as the Rolex showroom in London’s Knightsbridge.

“The safety of our customers is our absolute priority and in light of the current situation the Bucherer boutiques are temporarily closed until further notice,” the company says.

“We hope to be able to welcome you back to our stores soon and invite you to discover the Bucherer world on our website www.bucherer.com in the meantime.”

Selfridges, which houses The Wonder Room watch floor operated by Bucherer, closed earlier this week.

Bucherer has 35 showrooms across Europe with Switzerland, Germany and the UK its largest markets.

Tourneau in the United States, which is owned by Bucherer, has 27 stores that have all closed today.
