Farer has unveiled a range of divers’ watches, the Aqua Compressor Automatic collection.
The British watchmaker produces limited quantities of each collection, which are sold direct to consumers online or at pop-up events, with the USA currently its biggest market.
Farer launched three hand Automatic watches in November last year, and a GMTÂ Automatic collection in May this year, both of which sold out, co-founder Paul Sweetenham told WatchPro at an event in London last night.
The company has no plans to wholesale its watches.
The Aqua Compressor watches have 41mm cushion-shaped steel cases with twin screw-down crowns for adjusting the time and a uni-directional internal bezel used to indicate remaining time for a dive.
The watch is waterproof to depths of 300m, far deeper than a diver will ever descend, and keeps out water using gaskets that are compressed by rising pressure below the water so that the timepiece becomes more resistant to water the deeper it goes.
This protects the Swiss ETA 2824-2 Elaboré Non-Date Movement, which can be seen through a sapphire crystal case back.
Each watch, priced at £1,095, is individually numbered and comes with both a rubber strap and steel bracelet.
