British independent donates £10,000 to The Fire Fighters Charity

William Wood, an independent watch brand based in the United Kingdom, has donated more than $15,000 to charity.

Those behind the business explained that they were delighted to donate £10,000 to The Fire Fighters Charity in the UK and $5,000 to the Australian Bushfire Crisis.

The company said: “Back in January 2020 we created a very cool one time only customised Valiant Collection Red Watch in support of the tragic Australian bushfires. This 1 limited edition piece was donated to Time + Tide Watches in Australia and as part of their Watch + Act Auction.

“Luxury watch brands from around the world joined forces donating pieces to charity which ended up raising $150,000 in total. All proceeds from the sale were donated to The Bushfire Relief Fund, and our watch fetched a cool $5,000.”

Adding: “The Fire Fighters Charity are the largest firefighting charity in the UK supporting firefighters and their families. When my grandfather (William Wood) was alive he would use their recuperation facilities as a much needed break from the Fire Service.

“The charity is a wonderful organisation who provide psychological, physical and social support to the everyday heroes of the UK fire service. We know that our contribution makes a significant impact to the charity beneficiaries and we look forward to raising bigger sums in the future.”
