AVI-8 created a limited edition of its Hawker Hurricane model this year to commemorate the Battle of Britain.
The 43mm diameter watch, housing a Japanese automatic movement, is a classic vintage pilot style with a scratch-resistant sapphire glass front, coin edged crown and hand-polished bezel.
It comes on a leather or Nato nylon strap in a range of military colours and ships in a collectable presentation case. The dial is an intriguing mix of depth and detail.
The base panel captures the concentric circles outline of the RAF upon a three armed panel which lifts the 12, 4 and 8 hour indexes.
A raised tension ring demarcates the minutes with the lower layer embossed with a subtle horizontal pattern indicating 5 minute intervals in vintage 1940s typography.
Production is limited to 1963 pieces, the exact number of aircraft that took part in the Battle of Britain in 1940.
