British watch brand Bremont is aiming to raise money for the Invictus Games Foundation by creating a special bracelet for the charity.
The Invictus Games Foundation works with the UK team of athletes that competes in the annual sporting event; this year taking place in Toronto, Canada.
The announcement was made at a lunch this week hosted by Prince Harry, Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, who unveiled the team for the Toronto Invictus Games at the Tower of London.
There were 90 athletes introduced as the team, each of which was given a bespoke Bremont bracelet by co-founders Nick and Giles English.
The brothers also announced plans to create a special version of the bracelet for the public to buy with proceeds going towards the Invictus Games Foundation helping with their work inspiring recovery, support and rehabilitation.
“We are incredibly fortunate to work very closely with the military and to have the opportunity to honour those who have served our country in this way is something we are very proud to do. The bracelets we are making have actually been handmade by one of Bremont’s own watchmakers who is a qualified jeweller; we hope they will be a lovely reminder of having taken part in the Invictus Games 2017,” said Nick English.
The team of wounded, injured and sick serving military personnel and veterans came together following their selection during trials at the University of Bath in April.
The UK team will compete in 11 sports in Canada this September: Athletics; Archery; Wheelchair Basketball; Cycling; Powerlifting; Indoor Rowing; Wheelchair Rugby; Swimming, Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair Tennis and a new sport for 2017, Golf.
The team will continue to train for the games in various locations across the country as part of Help for Heroes’ extensive Sports Recovery programme and role to train and develop the team.

In the UK team, we have 90 individuals who have displayed high levels of passion, teamwork and commitment to using sport as a tool of recovery both during and beyond Invictus. We are very proud to be working alongside them and wish them the best of luck as they embark on their Invictus Games journeys.”
