Breitling’s lifesaving Emergency II goes stealth

Breitling is handing another lifeline to extreme sports fans, pilots and adventurers who might find themselves in need of rescuing with the Emergency II Night Mission.

Breitling launched the world’s first watch to include a personal locator beacon last year. The Emergency features a dual frequency microtransmitter serving to alert the Cospas-Sarsat international satellite system and guide rescue services to the watch’s exact location which could mean the difference between life and death to the owner.

Now Breitling has unveiled the 51mm Emergency II Night Mission in titanium with a black carbon-based, highly resistant treatment and cambered sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The watch is also a high tech survival instrument with multifunction electronic chronograph powered by a Breitling Caliber 76 SuperQuartz movement.

The movement allows for 12/24 hour analogue and LCD digital display, battery end-of-life indicator, 1/100th of a second chronograph, timer, second timezone and multi-lingual calendar. The watch is water resistant to 5 bar.

The Emergency II Night Mission goes on sale in the Autumn priced at £13,570.
