Breitling has made two versions of a new Superocean Heritage ’57 in collaboration with Outerknown, a sustainable apparel brand co-founded by surfing legend and Breitling squad member Kelly Slater.

Both models have bronze-colored dials and NATO straps made from Econyl yarn, a material sourced from repurposed nylon waste that might otherwise be clogging up our oceans.

It is available with a stainless steel case or as a limited edition model of 500 pieces with an 18ct red gold bezel.

“We’re thrilled to be able to build on our strong partnership with Kelly and everyone at Outerknown. The projects we work on with them go beyond watchmaking. They underscore Breitling’s commitment to sustainability. Of course, we also love the link to the cool surfing lifestyle, and working with the greatest surfer of all time makes that even more special,” says Breitling CEO Georges Kern.

The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown uses Breitling’s COSC-certified Caliber 10 automatic movement with 42 hour power reserve in a 42mm case.

The all-steel version is on sale for £3,400 while the limited edition with a gold bezel is priced at £4,150.
