Breitling opens its first monobrand boutique in Scotland

The Watches of Switzerland Group will manage the new showroom on Buchanan Street.

Breitling is welcoming shoppers to its first monobrand boutique in Scotland after non-essential retailers were allowed to open this week.

The store on Glasgow’s famous Buchanan Street is managed by the Watches of Switzerland Group, which also runs a Rolex showroom at the top of the same shopping thoroughfare.

Craig Bolton, executive director UK of the Watches of Switzerland Group says: “The boutique will be a superb addition to Glasgow’s retail scene and a perfect environment to welcome our clients, whether they are current devotees or new to the brand”.

Glasgow is one of the most competitive cities in the UK for luxury watches, with Chisholm Hunter, Laings, and Rox competing from the historic Argyll Arcade off Buchanan Street.

Breitling’s loft apartment design has been adopted for the Glasgow store with brick walls, walnut furniture, leather upholstery and dark oak floors juxtaposed with more industrial elements like concrete walls and contemporary graffiti artwork.

“As the cultural and creative hub of the UK, Glasgow represents the perfect location for our first boutique in Scotland and marks a significant milestone as we expand Breitling’s accessibility across the UK. Designed as an industrial loft, with an informal cool aesthetic, our customers can feel completely relaxed and at home with our innovative boutique approach and unhurried atmosphere. We are delighted to welcome Breitling enthusiasts and those just discovering the brand to explore the full expanse of our iconic collections at our new home in Scotland,” says Breitling UK managing director Gavin Murphy.
