Breitling chooses Chronomat as canvas for its latest Red Arrows watch

Breitling has created a limited edition version of its new Chronomat as part of its ongoing sponsorship of the Red Arrows RAF aerobatic team.

Chronomat was successfully relaunched last year as Breitling’s mainstream steel sports offer and the Red Arrows Limited Edition joins a long line of special editions made for the Royal Air Force over the course of a 30 year partnership.

“The Red Arrows represent the best of British — their professionalism, positivity and commitment to excellence are values that inspire each and every one of us. Breitling’s partnership with the team dates back 30 years and during this time the pilots have chosen to wear Breitling whilst conducting their daring displays, demonstrating the trust that they have in our watches and the synergy of our shared brand values.

“We are proud to continue our relationship with the team who have become our good friends over the years and we are delighted to be presenting our flagship model, the Chronomat bearing the Diamond Nine formation, in celebration of each of the 160 pilots who have earned the right to wear the ‘red suit’,” says Gavin Murphy, Breitling UK managing director.

Production of the limited edition has been set to 160 in honour of each pilot who has flown in the unit.

The watch has an RAF blue dial with contrasting black sub dials and the Red Arrows Diamond Nine logo at 12 o’clock.

A COSC-certified in-house manufactured Caliber 01 is housed inside a 42mm steel case and visible through a transparent sapphire crystal back that carries the Royal Air Force insignia in colour for the first time.

It is sold on the Chronomat’s tubular Rouleaux bracelet with butterfly clasp for £6,900.
