Breguet soars new heights with latest aviation-inspired chronograph

Presented on a calfskin strap, the Type XXI 3815 chronograph is produced at 250 pieces per colour.

Often associated with the world of aviation due to family pioneering achievements, Breguet has completed the Type XX collection with a new sporty, modern model.

The Type XXI 3815 chronograph is a limited edition version which the brand says marks a new page in the history of the brand and becomes a contemporary counterpart of the previous edition launched in 2016.

The new model, as opposed to the vintage look from five years ago, thus opts for a 42mm case made of titanium, a material known for its resistance and lightness on the wrist.

Associated with sport, the new edition offers water resistance to 100 meters, a screw-down crown and a finish alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces. The bidirectional bezel, also made in titanium, is fitted with a contrasting black lacquered 60-minute scale, reinforcing the contemporary aspect.

The evolution continues with a deep black dial with a sunray finish and a choice of green or orange numerals, indexes and hands, all largely luminescent while the new dial also opts for a display with only two counters, with a 24-hour indicator and a small second, placed respectively at 3 and 9 o’clock.

The chronograph minutes totalizer is positioned in the center, like that of the seconds and a new precision timer and a date at 6 o’clock complete this modern display.

Powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, it is equipped with the “flyback” function and also benefits from the latest technologies implemented by Maison Breguet, such as the escapement and the silicon balance-spring. The sapphire crystal case-back reveals the movement, as well as a gold oscillating weight with treatment specific to this edition.
