BREAKING NEWS: Watchfinder’s West End boutique attacked

Pre-owned watch specialist Watchfinder appears to have been attacked for a second time in four months.

Watchfinder told WatchPro it still does not know exactly what happened and is looking into the situation.

A photo has been sent to WatchPro via Twitter that shows the company’s recently opened boutique on Avery Row in London’s West End, with what appear to be hammer blows to its front door.

The glass of the door has not shattered, suggesting the raid may have been thwarted.

The photograph also shows an abandoned scooter lying on its side outside the Watchfinder shop. Scooters have become the getaway vehicle of choice for gangs targeting jewellers in the UK.

A gang escaped on a scooter from a raid on Mappin & Webb last night (September 9), and have not been caught.

If the raid on Watchfinder’s West End shop is confirmed, it will be the second attack in four months. A boutique in Leeds was broken into in July.
