BREAKING NEWS: Harrington & Hallworth opens central Manchester boutique

Harrington & Hallworth, the 2016 winner of WatchPro’s Luxury Retailer of the Year Award, has opened a boutique in central Manchester.

The business, run by Peter Harrington and Alf Hallworth, already operates prestige watch and jewellery stores in the Manchester satellite towns of Wilmslow and Ashton-under-Lyne.

The Harrington & Hallworth city centre boutique is located on the corner of King’s Street, a site previously occupied by Boodles, which as relocated to a larger unit in the street.

“To all our customers. Harrington & Hallworth are excited to announce we have opened a new showroom in Manchester City centre at Number One King Street,” the company says on its Instagram feed.

“We believe our offer is significantly different to our competitors and we are delighted to have secured exclusive agencies with Vacheron Constantin, Breguet and Chopard including their prestigious LUC range. We would love to welcome you to our stunning new showroom to celebrate with a glass of fizz,” it adds.

Kings Street and the St Ann’s area is one of the UK’s most prestigious hubs for jewellery and watch stores; a cluster for many of the same brands found on Bond Street in London, Argyle Arcade in Glasgow and Commercial Street in Leeds.

Harrington & Hallworth will compete with Boodles, Hancocks, Watches of Switzerland, Midas Diamonds, Ernest Jones, Fraser Hart and David M Robinson.

Securing agencies for Breguet and Vacheron Constantin is a significant marker for the rarefied offer from the new Harrington & Hallworth boutique.

The only competitors with Breguet outside of London are Owen & Robinson, which is owned by Berrys, in Leeds, Lumbers in Leicester and Chisholm Hunter’s newly opened store in Edinburgh.

Harrington & Hallworth is the third store outside London for Vacheron Constantin, which is also represented only by Owen & Robinson in Leeds and Chisholm Hunter in Edinburgh outside the capital.
